XenoType Technologies is the only company to
offer sophisticated support for Unicode Kannada text on a Macintosh.
If you’re planning on creating Unicode-based web pages, emails
or any other type of document, you’ll need the Kannada
Language Kit.
As scripts go, the proper display of Kannada is fairly complex
requiring all sorts of conjuncts, ligatures and graphic transposition
(when certain characters are moved in front of or behind other
characters contextually), but our Kannada fonts take care of all
this for you. We also provide a standard ISCII keyboard driver
for native typists as well as our own pseudo-phonetic driver designed
with English speakers in mind.
With an appropriate application, you can create just about any
Unicode-based document — check out the Sample
Files link for a sample html/pdf document.
We’re working on some additional
fonts to complement the
Kannada Language Kit which
should be available before the end of July. These fonts will be
available individually at additional cost or as part of a complete
package.
